A LOOK AT OUR TOWN
.
Kettering Council Offices
Kettering is a thriving town situated to the north of Northamptonshire. It is a large town with a population of around 70.000 people. Kettering can trace its past back to 956 AD, the time of King Edwy' so it is only to be expected that part of Kettering is very old with some fine old buildings still standing. For those of you who are intrested in history Kettering has more than its fair share should you care to look for it. Along side the old we have the new. In the 1960s part of the inner town was pulled down to make way for a new shopping centre, and other parts are still being modernised. The town is split into wards. The ward in which our school is situated is called St Andrew's ward and as the name suggests is situated around St Andrew's Church. We are a growing town due mainly to our very good road/rail links. The A14 passes very close to the outskirts of town linking us with the M1 and M6 in one direction and the M11 and A1 in the other. We also have very good rail links being on the London St Pancras main line.
